The Greco-Bactrian Temple in Ai Khanoum (The Temple with Indented Niches)

A historical reconstruction of the Temple with Indented Niches, at Ai Khanoum, a Greco-Bactrian archaeological site in Afghanistan (3rd Century B.C.).
A Hellenistic Period temple fusing Greek, Achaemenid Persian and Bactrian elements, dedicated to a syncretic form of Zeus. In all likelihood the god called Zeus-Mithra, or perhaps Zeus-Ahura-Mazda.
